Founded by Emma Lustres and Borja Pena in 2003, Vaca Films has established itself in Spain as one of the leading production companies in the development and production of successful films and series intended for both the national and international markets, combining quality with commerciality. His productions have raised more than €50M in Spain and have been distributed throughout the world, participating in the most relevant festivals (Venice, Toronto, San Sebastián or Berlin) and winning dozens of Goya Awards and other important mentions. Among his highest-grossing titles are “Celda 211”, “El Niño”, “One Hundred Years of Forgiveness”, “The Stranger”, “Who Kills with Iron”, “Hasta el cielo”, “La Sombra de la Ley”, “Fatum” or “El Correo”. His latest releases have been "Golpes", a thriller starring Luis Tosar, Jesús Carroza and Teresa Garzón, which marks the feature film directing debut of Rafael Cobos; and "Dímelo bajito", an original film for Prime Video that adapts the first novel of the trilogy of the same name by Mercedes Ron, directed by Denis Rovira. Through their Vaca TV line, in 2020 they premiere the first season of “La Unidad”, a Movistar+ series that marked the most viewed launch of an original in the history of the platform, and the Netflix series “El mess que dejas”, created by Carlos Montero; "Hasta el cielo. La serie", continuation of the film of the same name directed by Daniel Calparsoro; "Clanes", directed by Roger Gual and starring Clara Lago and Tamar Novas, which has accumulated 11 weeks among the most viewed series on Netflix in Spain and is preparing its second season; and “El Circo de los Muchachos,” a documentary series for Prime Video, directed by Elías León Seminiani. His upcoming series, in addition to the second season of "Clanes", include "Lobo", a miniseries written by Alberto Marini together with Juan Galiñanes, directed by Marini himself together with Javier Rodríguez Delgado and starring Luis Tosar and Tristán Ulloa. They are currently developing and preparing several film and TV projects with the main scriptwriters and directors on the national scene.
